Following a conversation with mates after several bottles of wine, who is your hero/ heroes and why?
Discounting the obvious family members who I think we all at some stage look up to and admire. One of mine has to be; Bear Grylls, from reading his story about a parachuting accident that pretty crippled him to climbing everest 12months later.....that takes all amount of determination. |

I have quite a few.
Malcolm Campbell, Donald Campbell & John Parry-Thomas for risking their lives just to say "I'm the fastest" Barry Sheene - No explanation necessary. Jesse Owens - For sticking two fingers up at the Nazis by competing in the 1936 Berlin Olympics and winning four gold medals. Steve McQueen - Again no explanation necessary. |

contensious but not far any bad reasons, Hitler, for his determination, political powers, the way he led a nation from nothing to wealth.A great leader with a lot of self determination and strength.
Also Queen Elizabeth the first, mainy for the rasons above, made even more remarkable as she was a woman in an era of complete sexisum! Now before anyone jumps all over me i DONT agree with the things the Nazi's done at all. I just think if you could speak to him around one of those hypothetical dinner gest tables, he would be a veryt interesting character. |

Leonard Cheshire - First (and only?) man to gain a VC for consistantly being brave, rather than a single act of bravery. Leading 617 squadron to become the elite precision bombing outfit after the dams raid. For his humanity, because he could not standby and let another human being suffer, so he took them in and so started the Leonard Cheshire homes.
