Default Getting cold then- glad the bike's freshly serviced!

A freezing day for the MOT- even inside the test centre, the guys were complaining of the cold!

Thanks to Spanner Man for a lovely coffee, chat and quote on brake discs (advisory on the MOT- front discs are rather worn- great! More money...!).

And the Beeb (yes I know...) reckons -2 tonight, -5 tomorrow night and light snow on Weds. Who'd have heard of it in Sunny Surbighton, eh?

Luckily, I'm stocked up on thermals/fleece etc.

But not looking forward to that cold! I think some FST in the tank for this week...

Yeah ..... I've heard that ..... light snow showers later this week ........

I've order a load of new Spada chill factor stuff (always found it works)... hope it turns up soon !!!

Oh, and everyone is right .... heated grips .... only do so much

Yeah- never bothered with heated grips. It's the outside of the hands that need the care!

My Richa Baltics are pretty good, but even a 25 min commute to Weybridge in 5 degrees or less can leave the hands numb or sore with cold!

At least my bike is now serviced, tuned and much easier to start than a month ago. This will help immensely- and no alarm this winter too- should help the battery a little...

I'll even consider handlebar muffs this winter.

It's nice to get yer hands into a pair of muffs!

*touches wood*

I have to say the pointy (so far) has been an amazingly reliable bike .....all good for now ... but will need its 15,000 mile service doing in the Spring ... more work for Spanner man !!

Same here .... 35mins Sutton to Hampton Hill (Twickenham) is just far enough to give you numb hands .... although last year I did it on a GN125 with really carp gear ... this year should be a breeze compared ..... although I swear in slippery weather I could beat anything on the tiny 125 ....

Just come back in from shovelling snow off the sidewalk (you can be fined if you don't clear the sidwalk in front of your house - despite the City not clearing the road!). It has snowed almost constantly for two weeks.
Luckily the car was plugged in, as it is currently -34 C (-52 with the windchill). My bike is tucked up under cover on stands, with the battery on a shelf connected to the optimiser.
It's on days like today that I miss a crisp English morning.
On the good side we are expecting a Chinook on Wednesday and it is supposed to ge up to -1 c!

Hot enough grips are still better than nothing , I'm still not sure I like the idea of the bike mittons as I don't like the idea of having my hands inside something physically attached to the bars but...

That said I was so glad for the heated seat this morning .

Cos the snows so deep and I cant get my bike to the garage to be serviced. Not really (I did it myself before I put it away), the Chinooks are the warm, dry winds that blow off the Rockies and can raise the temperatures up to 30 C in one day.

Muffs are quite safe, you're hands arnt restricted from coming out or anything.

Heated grips + handlebar muffs is a winning combo, allows one to remain wearing summer gloves.

(if your heated grips work)
