At the weekend I picked up some Motopro snug grips, knowing oxford are crap, so i come to fit them to my naked curvy, and run all wires in ready, fit the left grip and it feels a little lose on the bars, so i check the sizes and find that they are 7/8" the same as the bandit bars im using but get it to stay in place well.
Next I come to fit the right onto the throttle slide and file down the outside lip that stops it going on, then find that its loose after removing the outer lip and what do I need to do by the kill switch with the lip there? Thanks for any help, Sunshine. |

well i think people cant seem to get the same 7/8" bar size is the main problem and the lips on the throttle slide do i need to get rid of them or could i just pick up a cheap replacement slide to do the job?

im guessing its the same as the oxford drips, you have to take the lip off, use a dremel but a knife will do. i think had to glue my grip to the throttle slide but i cant remember it was ages ago, pretty sure i did

I cut the lips off, and glued my grips on. I also had to chop a bit off the end of the grips to make them short enough to fit.
The inner lip on a pointy is a huge triangular affair - I stood the throttle tube on its end and cut around it with a junior hacksaw blade, then cleaned up what was left with a knife/file/sandpaper.

the grips were 1/16" to big so i had to wrap the handlebars with insulation tape, then glue the grips on so they would fit better, i had to do this on the throttle slide as well after cutting the lips off the throttle slide, now both grips fitted and lovely and warm.
