I was a boring always Stilton type of person.
But recently a friend gave me a large lump of Blacksticks Blue from Inglewhite near Preston that went down very nicely and she has literally just dropped of another nice big lump, which has prompted this post. Prompted by my recent deviation from the mighty Stilton, I have recently tried a Cashel Blue which I believe to be a native of the emerald isle and jolly nice it was too. I have ventured further over the water and tried the odd Dolcelatte, Roquefort and Danish Blue. But am now hungry to expand my knowledge (and a damm good excuse to crack open another bottle of port). Come on org. Your recommendations would be appreciated. Maybe a blue goat or sheep milk cheese. Whatever you recommend, you must have personally tried it, enjoyed it and not simply googled blue cheese. I am sure dizzy would like the org recommendations too

Durham Blue..... BEAUTIFUL.
Dan introduced me to this cheese, as He work'd with the Ladies mother who makes it. She gave some cheese to Dan as a tester and then Dan gave me a sample of it. We're big fans of it, and so is my Dad, as between us both we bought £30, and it was all gone at the end of the week + 2 packets of crackers...

Have you tried the smoked cheeses...yummy! (not the yucky processed ones though)
There was a shop up in Norfolk, in Sheringham, just sold cheese, must have spent about £50 in there.....find yourself a little Deli that specialises in cheese and they let you have taste tests before you buy too...... ![]() |

Cheshire Blue's quite nice too, if you can get it up your way.
Other than that I would agree with Blacksticks blue or Roquefort, the latter is AMAZING with steak or with some good home-made burgers on the BBQ! |

My time in Shropsire was spent in boozers round Ironbridge or Shifnal. Other than that I was out the place as quick as I could. Well you know Telford. You cannot blame me.
But will look out for your local stinky blue if it makes its way up to the cheese stalls on my local market
