I had one in the early part of the noughties, used to take on windermere before stupid speed limit.
I had a dateline (old cumbrian make) with a chrysler 55hp 2 stroke, very smokey tbh.
The modern 4 strokes are better i think with better fuel economy.
I could empty my fuel tank in 2 hours, less if i gave it some.

Good fun, would defo get another in future, but didnt use mine that much so you need to dedicate more time to it.
If you use in on the sea, make sure you flush it through with fresh water after every use, you can buy things to put on your hose and do it on your drive.

i had an outboard yamaha 70 4 stroke, tank range used to get my from just under the itchen bridge to the isle of white, twas fairly nippy my dad got slapped on the wrists by the water plods.

make sure you have paddles, we conked out in the shipping lane, it was scarey

Yeah mine would do 35mph with 4 up, dont sound a lot, but in boats that pretty good.
I have been 60mph in a boat, feels like 100mph.
