Default not been on your bike for a while? hows it feel?

For all of you that lay your bike up for the winter, is it a good thing or a bad thing as far as ridings concerned? admitted roads are slippy and greasy in the winter which do make them more dangerous places but when i was out yesterday i found myself doing school boy errors, this was mainly because id forgot the feel for my bike so was very ham fisted with the throttle when i shouldn't have been

So is it best to ride through winter and maintain your experience or do you lay you bike up for the bad weather minimizing slips and minor spills?

I've not rode for about 4 weeks, last week it was still a bit icey in places but felt like the bike needed a spin, it was more of the sholder checks I got a bit complacent with.

I ride all year apart from when the ice is about.
Now its warmed up im having no issues with my riding as the roads are good around here now, just other peoples driving as they are still as stupid as ever.

agreed lee67, i can see how someone whos been off all winter has less feel for their bike, jump back on their R1 in april and totally loose control saying that tho ive been riding for 18 years and have rode through all the bad weather in the past and id still rather stay off it when theres ice down.

Best way to do it, now its rideable just suit and then not even the cold gets to you.

Also back to the riding point i find for the first 5mins after a long time off everything feels abit tense but after that feels like i was never off it.
