I bagged one on eBay the other week and was quite chuffed with myself , that is until it arrived .................... Holy Moly , they lied when they said compact , this thing is HUGE . I also noticed it came with a Square Block thingy . I want to replace the Horn completely on my bike and looking at the diagram inside the packaging it looks like I unplug my OEM Horn , place the connectors on the relevant parts of that square thing on pins 86 and 85 , Run a Positive from pin 87 to the Stebel Horn and then run a Fused Positive from my Battery to pin 30 ......... and finally run a Ground from the Horn to the frame or something ?
Does this sound about right to those that have done it ? |

Problem I am starting to get here is too much stuff coming off my Battery now , I have heated grips on there , Optimate flylead and I will be running the horn off that too , running out of space for Ring connectors on there .

I was also thinking of mounting this Horn in the Belly pan of the bike on some sort of bracket so that it has a modicum of protection and is hidden out of the way as well as it`s a bit of an ugly nugget to say the least

So run a nice fat earth lead to a block somewhere you can connect them all. Should be space under tail unit I tihnk?
You are right with wiring anyway, stock horn connectors go to relay, those close the circuit when needed allowing current from battery to go to the horn then other terminal on horn needs to go to earth. Also make sure relay is out of weather, they may look sealed, they aren't! And make sure horn is on some manner of mount to give some vibration protection, otherwise they crack.

I`m loathe to mess around too much under there at the moment as I also bagged a genuine Suzuki Accumen CAT1 alarm for the bike as well which will need fitting first I reckon . I`ll fit that then turn my attention to tidying up existing connections and then slinging this Horn into the mix .

and you are going to put even more load on the already dodgy wiring you have... tut tut.

You could run the grips and horn off the one supply. Just split the supply and fuse them separately nearer the front.
