Default Best 250 for a New Zealander?

Was wondering if any can recommend a 250 for my brother who lives in NZ.

He has been looking at the Hyosung 250 GTR, becasue if he buys it new it will come with 2 years warranty.

Any ideas?

The Hyosung is meant to be good from what I hear, never ridden one, MCN have done a review on it.

Otherwise the Ninja250R is meant to be a good un as well but more expensive.

yeah it is my understanding that the Hyosung is a good bike to ride, but is not made well, it is about £3500 new over there and the Ninja 250 is about £5,000 new so my bro doesnt really want one of them.

im just trying to help him find something really, he is retricted to a 250cc for a year.

Could he buy a bigger bike and just restrict it?

Opens up much more options.

thats a good point, but he is pretty skint, and says he can only really afford finance.

i would lend him the cash but im not flush myself. me and my other 2 bros, said we would help him pay for it, but i do like the idea of buying used and getting something better in a year.
