Default Battery Charging

This maybe a bit of a silly question but here goes.

I've left my bike in storage for 3 months. I payed her a visit today and it wouldn't start. Am guessing the battery is flat The question is can I disconnect the battery and charge it up using a car battery charger ??

I have a SV650S K9

Cheers Org!!

Car battery chargers typically pump more amps into the battery, not ideal.

If you have a trickle charger (<1A) should be fine.

If its been flat for a while the battery is probably dead anyway.

You need a trickle charger and most car ones dont trickle charge.

Sorry I can't view the link at work. Check teh charger, if it's under 5A then give it an hour then try, if not give it another house and it should be full by then. Don't overdo it though as it's a fast cahrge rate (1A would be better). it's a 12Ah battery (I think) i.e. would take 12 hours to chareg at 1A or just over 2 hours at 5A.
