Default Oil Supplies...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8563985.stm

So, basically the above article has said that China has started using a lot more oil compared to the previous year - 28% more compared to January 2009.

I'm not too au fait with how the world works, but from what I gather the tyrannical empires which the world once was, effectively kept the indigious people from growing in terms of technology, economics, financially etc etc, which meant they required less of the worlds natural resources such as oil.

This has got me thinking - is the democratic, human rights, tree hugging approach to world politics going to doom us simply because more and more countries will start needing more natural resouces, and there are far fewer wars keeping populations relatively controlled.

Don't read into this that I'm pro-war or anything daft like that. I've had a couple and this just popped into my head when reading the BBC article.

Discuss.

Yes without a doubt, this country is doomed.
