Camera Mount

I just picked up the contourGPS and have been looking around for great spots to mount. RAM has a reservoir cover that I though might be cool but I have an 08 SV650SF so my reservoir is cylindrical. Ny next though would use the included adhesive and mount on the outside of the lower fairing. That way I could also see some fork compression while I'm riding. Another idea I had is the outside of the chain guard or maybe the swingarm to get a cool rear view. Has anyone experimented with mounting locations? I also bought the waterproof case. Not so much bc I was afraid of water but am worried about degree from the road scratching the lens. Is that a valid concern?
