Thumbs down Burglary...

All got back to my mate house (in manchester) last night after celebrating his birthday (today), in good spirits all boozed and kebabbed up...oh look the back door's wide open .
They absolutely gutted all his houemates of their stuff, 21st birthday presents, laptops with work, pictures etc. on, they couldn't get into one room so kicked down his door and wiped it all out. Unfortunately that housemate had to go to his parents home for the weekend as his mum had just died . Turned every room upside down and finished by kicking my mates car mirror off as they swaggered past.
(although my mate retracted his complaints, earlier that night, of taking my advice and buying a desktop computer.)
Absolute *******s.
Kind of wrecked the night as the police (who turned up surprisingly fast!...no BP though ) wanted us out the house while they did their biz, we eventually cleared off to sheffield at 5.30am after no sleeps. Police were still there when we left.

On the upside it appears they were pretty bungling burglars, one of the cops did a walk round and found their gloves down the side of the house, and their tv in a near by garden, they also seem to have either ignored or missed the car key that fell out of one of the bags they emptied (and nicked)...they also appear to have compensated the house by leaving a big bag of cannabis

Yeah that's what they all say

Sorry to hear about this, bunch of c**ts! Sadly shared houses seem to be an easy target for scroats like this

No, they honestly had - Tim was overjoyed!
My mate was pretty happy as his room appeared to be tidieed if anything and as he slightly embarrassedly explained to the cops he had nothing of value apart from the trifle I got him for his birthday, which thankfully they missed...

The back door appeared to be the point of exit (and as a firm christian this is of some comfort) but can't work out how they got in. Front door was locked, all windows were closed and back door was locked, bolted and chained.

Hat's off to the cops one was an ársey beggar but he made up for this by doing the hunt round the gardens and coming up trumps with the tv and gloves, the other was sound. They responded quick, hung about for hours on end and tried to get the dogs in to sniff the gloves, see which way they went etc.
Doubt they'd bother doing forensics on the gloves for a few burglaries though?

They might. I know that we would but as our force isn't as big I can't speak for them but certainly if there has been a spate then they might.

That sucks. Could they have lived there before and had a key?

Indeed, or do you trust all of the house residents? Could it be one of their mates has a key you don't know about?

All the residents are best mates, however their landlord's crap so yeah previous resident is possible. They got robbed last week too (hence why everything was locked and bolted down) but the landlord wouldn't change the locks....so I see some rent being withheld.
sucks though
