Default quick spring question

ok thinking of putting shorter dog bones on to increase rear end height, would i need to put some stiffer springs in the front to compensate for the extra weight on the front as i am quite heavy to start with?

Good morning.

The front fork springs on an SV are pretty feeble to start with.
Fit a set of Hagon springs, they will improve things greatly.
They are probably one of the best modifications you can do to your bike in any case.

Cheers.

funny you should say that spanner man, it is my intention to ride down and get you to do my 15k service...and also the dog bones...and now the springs....wife doesnt know it yet though! just got to pay for my tax , insurance and mot this month though. do i need to ring you when i am ready and buy the parts myself or is it something you can supply? only thing i am wary of is dog bones, see cheap ones and expensive ones. price doesnt always add up to quality and peace of mind!

Good afternoon.

Good to hear you're planning a visit. You will need to ring & book yourself in. We can aquire everything, & have it ready for you.

There are indeed many different dogbones available, most seem ok. Did you have a particular make in mind?

Cheers.

i have no idea what to look for, a well made set that isnt stupidly priced.as for lift amount ,as much as i can get without falling off the front! lol. coupled with decent springs and a well serviced bike i would be ecstatic! looking forward to coming down as soon as funds permit. and i would not want to come from midlands without booking in advance.
