Default Newbie

Hiya all, just wanted to say hi to the forum. I passed my test early march and bought myself a Suzuki SV650s (2000 model) straight away and have been riding it for the last few weeks and have been loving it!

Hopefully i'll be able to contribute to this forum best I can and be able to get some good tips

Jonny

Feeling welcome already! What would you say about ride-outs? Good fun? Would I feel a bit left out being a 'young' rider?

I'm a young rider too mate, and not too far from you (studying in London but from MK originally). Been round here for a short while, but keep missing the rideouts, either cos of trashing my bike like a tool, or in terms of this yrs annual rideout, not in the country.

I know people are always up for rideouts here though, and if anything, going out with the experienced folks will only help us learn more. I'm dying for someone with more experience to watch me ride, who knows how many wrong things us noobs do.

Ah nice one mate! Well i'm at uni in Leicester at the moment. Actually from Luton so even closer really! Are there many ride outs around the Bedfordshire / Buckinghamshire areas? I know about the annual one but not sure i'll be able to make it. I know up here in Leicester there's theres a bikesafe course run by the Leicestershire Police (http://www.bikesafe.co.uk/Bikesafe/B...leicester.html) i've applied for it, seems like a good idea & it's free (great for us cheap students)!

Lol yeh I applied to a bikesafe down in London shortly after I passed my test. Phoned up one of the officers a few weeks later, cancelling cos I'd trashed my SV, felt like such a tool. Couldn't even last til my bikesafe!

Superstard is also a member of this forum from Milton Keynes. He told me about this website
triple-b.co.uk
It is a Milton Keynes based biker website but Luton/MK practically all one anyway. I know they're arranging a Dyno day rideout sometime soon (which I sadly can't make either), but that would defo be a laugh. Other than that, there is quite a few people from around here on the org, so a rideout at some point can't be too hard to sort out I'm pretty sure. I wish I had more of an excuse to fire up my bike out in the country, most my riding is 30-40mph central London hassle!

What you studying in Leicester btw?
