Default Fork oil for CG125?

Hello tech support,

I'm resurecting a CG125 for my girlfreinds brother, and have changed the fork seals due to them leaking.

What I need to know is what oil to stick in them, the haynes manual is very vauge, it says suitable fork oil or ATF, so i went to get some ATF and was presented with at least 3 grades and a rather sceptical man.

What should I get, considering that we're dealing with a CG125 and a 17 year olds budget?

Cheers Luke

Sorry couldn't resist

**EDIT** Moved further down in case you thought I was just taking the mick

I put 10w fork oil in the forks of 400cc, 600cc and it's listed as 10w for the Blackbird too. So I'd go with that to be honest. It'll cost you about £5-£6 for half a litre. That should do you for a CG shouldn't it?

Don't think they sell that in Happy Shopper Torpoint, shame! Any other suggestions?

10 or 15 will be fine - it's not sophisticated suspension.

That's an understatement! You get better suspension on a roller skate

Old style ATF is pretty close to 10 weight, but as Sid says, 15w will do. If it's a Brazilian model you have, the forks only contain about 90ml. Be careful not to overfill them. Or they'll lock solid.

Cheers.
