hi-ya folks.
i have a oval hi-level stainless steel remus grand prix exhaust with the baffle clearly visable not sure how old as it is it was on the bike when i bought it
it doesnt have the usual allen key nut for removal,i think its possible that it isnt removable,im just wondering has anyone else had one on or know anything about this peticular exhaust.

my dads twin quill carbon cans (xt660x) just had pressure fitted DB killers so i would try and pull them with pliers first

Take a couple of pics of the end of the can and outlet, could be any number of things.

Is the can like this one fitted to my other halfs K5 ?

It might not have an allen key to remove it. Because removing the baffle makes the can illegal, quite often the baffles are held in with a rivet. You'll need to drill that rivet out first and then you can pull the baffle out the can.

Of course it might not be a baffle in there I think that remus did a non baffled can but I am not 100% sure...

it has no rivets around the outlet and the remus name is stamped on rather than stuck on but i think your right about the non baffle thing because it is loud enough i just think it looks rubbish with the "baffle" sticking out instead of a big deep hole..

All I can say is I'm glad I have a removeable baffle, even though I never take it out cause it's loud enough with it in, lol

You might find you can't get it out without damaging the exhaust, do you really need to take it out?

Easiest way to get the baffle out (assuming there are no rivets/bolts/welds) holding it in is to take the can off, insert a broom handle (or similar) from the pipework end and tap/bounce/whack it on the ground.

The baffles in my Remus cans were a right PITA to get out/in - luckily I only had to do it once a year for the MOT.

Not looking forward to refitting the baffle for the pipes on my Sprint - that is about a 2 hour job (full un-install/re-install needed).
