I haven't got a sat nav but I'm thinking about getting a cheap, maybe old, car based sat nav. Is there an easy way to set a route on a computer and upload it so that the sat nav follows that route rather than it's own?
I've tried but for the life of me I just cannot follow a map or directions whilst on two wheels. Thanks. |

If you have one of the garmins then mapsource does that.
The Quest/Quest2 is also quite ideal as a bike satnav and quite cheap these days as its quite old now. Downside is the small screen, upside is ~20hours battery life and fully waterproof. Druid

TYRE - Trace Your Route Everywhere will do it for TomTom and Garmin. It uses Google Maps to plan routes and then converts them to downloadable files, and it's free.
