I know this sounds nuts but I can't seem to find a triumph forum in the UK that's anything like as busy as this one. Thinking about a sprint st for next bike and want to read up on it..

As per what Andy has said, to be honest, they don't exist. The only forum which gets a reasonable amount of traffic is the D675 one. All the others, such as Triumphrat seem to take two weeks for a reply.
But, again as per what Andy has said, there are now a number of Sprint owners on here. Post a question, sure they will help.

Newer one, although they are quite pricy still atm. Looking for something faster than SV but more comfortable (and still ok to insure).

don't overlook the older version, they have the triumph real world build quality and weather well so plenty around in very good condition still, 118bhp and tops out just over 155mph (as apposed to the newer model which is 125bhp/160mph), and insurance group lower at 14 than the new one and weather well so still a very competent bike, if you do look try to find a post 03 version (run from 02-04) as they have the clutch upgrade which isn't a deal breaker, but nicer.
Another consideration is the Sprint RS of the same vintage, the most cost effective way into the big bike triumph club, as I discribed it recently the equivalent of the SV, but bigger and better (actually the engine is pretty much an SV and a half). Cheers Mark.

T 595 Net is where you want to be. Unless you are going for style[1050] the 955i is better on fuel and more comfortable as it is more touring orientated than sport. When you compare the performance difference it is negligible just that you will spend about £2000 more for a 1050 on an 05 plate as against an 04 955i.
A bit like pointy and curvy SVs looks wise Having said that it is your own personal preference |

I went from a sv1000 to a 2009 Sprint last year. Bloody love it, engine feels bullet proof, pulls like a train at any revs and sounds awesome.
On the sv1000 my 4rse and wrists were killing me after about 150 miles - a whole day in the saddle used to leave me in agony. With the sprint, I can ride all day and still feel 'fresh as a daisy'. A great bike, get a test ride on one and make sure you get the chance to give it some beans
