Default Neil Hodgson Retires

Sad to see anyone have to be forced to retire through injury, but its a real shame that Neil hasnt had the chance to silence some of the doubters with a season in BSB. Good luck to whatever Neil decides to do in the future.

Ian Lowry stepping up to the Rob Mac team. Always showed promise in the Relentless team so will be interesting to see how he goes. Good luck to the lad.

Whilst I agree it's sad to anyone forced into retirement, I don't think there was a chance in hell that he was going to be one of the front runners or have anything other than a mediocre season.

Was it not the same type of injury that finished his mate Foggy too?

"Used to" is the operative phrase there I think.

Don't forget that thanks in part to series like the (now defunct) R6 Cup youngsters have been able to showcase their talent, learn their craft & generally speed up the process of reaching the higher levels of racing far more quickly than in the heyday of SH & JR. Riders also have to be far fitter nowadays than was required before - and the ability to remain fit and healthy (or at least recover quickly after an 'off') is definitely easier if you're young !)
