Hi all, I have a 2005 Speed Triple, 17,000 miles approx, tax til june, MOT october.
Extras on it - race exhausts (with originals, race ones have been quiet enough to get through MOT), heated grips, headlight cowl, radiator and oil cooler guards, pillion handle, tank protector, triumph fat bars, handguards, Scottoiler. Recent chain and sprockets (easiest change in the world, you don't even need to take the bike off the sidestand!). Recent pads all round, and tyres in the last 2 months. The big 12,000 mile service was done at a Triumph dealer. I have booked it in for the minor service, so that will be done soon. Only damage is a cracked side panel, one of the lugs under the seat has snapped, but as it's held in by at least two other lugs and an allen bolt, it doesn't show, and won't fall off. It also shows 2000 miles less than quoted, the speedo failed at 2000 miles and was replaced under warranty apparently. Just to buy it I'm looking at £4500 or nearest offer. I have pics, but the forum doesn't seem to like them, (and I'm too dumb to work things out) so PM me and I'll email pics. What I'd ideally like is someone to trade me an SV650 (S or N, I don't mind), 2003 pointy onwards. I would love a newer bike (2005 with black frame and swingarm), plus cash to make up the difference. If anyone is interested or wants to know more, please get in touch! |

Best way to put pics on is to register with www.photobucket.com
Upload photos there and then when you post on a forum, just add the 'img' code from photobucket (it appears under each photo you upload to their site. Its completely free |

It's gorgeous to ride too! Has engine characteristics somewhere between a twin and a four. It pulls in most gears from 2000rpm, lower in first 2 gears. then accelerates like hell, right up to the redline. Post 5k it sounds so awesome, like a kind of evil Porsche! The ride quality is really good, handles rough and smooth roads, keeps up with most things on the road. Only beaten by proper sportbikes. As a toy, it's fantastic, but I need a small, everyday bike, with an economical engine. That said, the triple will do an indicated 45mpg average commuting!

However, the reason for replying: on economy I commute to London (25mi from Boxhill) and around the city center regularly (Imperial College London). I average 55mpg in the city, and approx 62mpg on the motorways from Boxhill to Castellane, france. Hope that helps. Best of luck. |
