Default Licence Updates

Hello,

I've read about people sending their licences off for a change of address or renewal of a photo and then when they receive the new licence back there is no motorcycle entitlement on the licence.

I have got my car driving test this week and I was wondering if there is anything I can do to ensure that I don't loose my entitlement. I've heard stories of people taking photocopies and then being accused of fraud. I am going to take photocopies of my licence and I also have my practical test certificate should they say they have no record of me ever taking or passing my bike test.

What's the best thing to do??

Thanks

Rob

Think you've answered your own question really. Only thing you can do is photocopy your original. Mine came back ok in March after the ten year renewal. Bleddy better come back with bike entitlement when I do my car test, or off to the DVLA to 'blow the bleddy doors off' lol

I thought the same thing when doing my car test.
Photocopy both parts! and 2 copys. one to keep on you and the other stuck up as a spare if you need it.

But i didnt have a problem. Seems to have been sorted out now i think.

I think i read somewhere that you can request to have your old one sent back to you so you have the proof. Would writing a letter and asking it to be sent off with my licence be worth a shot?

I'll probably fail now that I've mentioned this!!

My examiner wrote on the back of my pass certificate when I passed my car test and signed it. I still had my pass certificate from my bike test though.

Did the same, and Mr Plod was more than happy too.

Yup sounds like a sound idea. I would expect any professional witness would be ok, doctor, lawyer, etc.

If you still have your practical test certificate, that is all that you need.
