Default Always check your paperwork - MOT expired.

Thought I'd have a look at when in July the MOT was due on my bike - first one since I bought it.

HOLY FLOCK! 31st March 2010...

Ooops! Only 6 weeks and 400 miles too late.

Needless to say its booked in but what a dipstick.

Lesson learned; check what the Salesman tells you!

My old chap is terrible for this. I bet if I did it and he found out he'd have something to say

At least you didn't get caught!

I think a very similar thing happened to Paul the 6th! Shocking that they tell you the wrong date!

Always very careful with things like this myself, normally becuase I have to budget for it in advance lol.

Its little issues like this that can cause a whole world of **** when something goes wrong.

Easily done though.

I imagine stupidly rich people with a collection of cars and bike need to employ people just to make sure their cars and bikes remain tax'ed/sorn'ed/MOT etc. It's the last thing on their minds no doubt.

Also ALWAYS check your insurance too. Got mine for my old CBR and most of the paper work was incorrect. Even got the reg wrong!!! When I went to get the tax done the post office guy pointed it out that htis was wrong. Got back to the office and gave them a mouth full. Luckly I wasnt riding the bike at this time.

As for the MOT I've never owned a brand new bike to have this happen.

It get blo0dy worse!

Just been right thro' everything. There's only a recall that hasn't been done.

Now there's a dealer that doesn't get my vote.

Don't start that subject off again, look what happened yesterday

Couldn't find the MOT for my car, as the tax reminder had come through. I know MOT is due about the same time, so booked it in just in case.

Why can't they combine MOT & tax at the same time? Everything is much easier than it used to be, paying for tax online is great. No more standing in line at the PO, plus I get Goldfish points as well, although I pay more for using a credit card don't I?

Hi Bri,
If you PM me your details and reg number I'll get a conditional FPN in the post to you. That way you'll be able to sleep better tonight......
