Default Factory Pro Carb kit

Is there anything special about the factory pro needle and jet kits. On my old CBR600 the dynojet kit had needle shrouds for better atomisation do the factory kits come with something like this?

My bike is going to the dyno to get setup with the mods that are on it so I am expecting different jets and there is a guy who sets up alot of the race lads bikes for a very reasonable £80ish (thats over 30 dyno runs).

So the dilema is do I fit the Factory Pro kit and get it dyno'd or just get the guy to set it up on the dyno as the jets etc are similar to the factory pro stuff anyway?

Cheers

Don't use the factory kit.I used to have it but threw it away.Needles not really good tapered, bike kicked like 2 stroke above 7000 and felt lazy in the mids.
Just get a series of Mikuni mains and lift(if necessary) the needle.
Better give the dyno guy the jets and let him do the job.

there always is two sides to every story

aparently say dynojet needles damage carbs over time while factory pro ones does not, never heard this on the SV though

i know on the ZX7R circles there is a deffo dislike for Dynojets where the carbs have been damaged beyond reasonable repair while factory pro kits are considered the best.
seems each kit has folowers for each type of bike

For me custom tuning(dyno) is the way to proceed.I would never buy a kit because there are so many different combinations for air filters and aftermarket exhaust. No kit will ever work for every combination, that's reality.
I would consider kit for a SPECIFIC combination of air filter AND exhaust. Not to mention that with the kit's cost you can buy jets and cover the cost of the dyno tuning with much better results.

Its a trackbike so longivity isn't an issue.

I'm just trying to get the most out of the SV without opening the engine.

It has a full Akrapovic system and a BMC race airfilter with the tank raised 25mm and the foam removed so a dyno session will be needed to get the best out of it.

Trying to get to 72bhp

Tank risers won't offer anything. They are used only for fitting FCR.With stock carbs they won't do difference.I tried it and saw no gains.I later verified it by reading this article http://www.svrider.com/articles/2001jul_carbs.htm and you see.
As for foam,I admit I have taken mine off, just for fun.Only advantage is reduced weight ...Bike becomes a bit noisier but I saw no gain in performance.

My bike has full Yoshi and desnorkelled BMC street filter.

PSoes Acrapovic make FULL exhaust for SV?

My SV with just akrapovic headers and a scorpion silencer made just over 70, stock air filter, I think I had the tank raised 10mm and the foam removed at the time. No jetting changes.

The Akra system is ALOT lighter and much less convoluted than the standard system so it should make some gains.
