Default Checking oil level question.

Hi all
I've just collected my new bike having only passed test a few weeks ago. I've not got around to getting a haynes manual yet so thought I'd ask the question on here.. When checking the oil level in the window with the bike upright (as I know is how it is supposed to be) its fine, however theres no sign of any oil in the window when the bike is on its side stand and wondered if this is normal?

its a 2001 curvy

cheers

Yes thats right. As the bike leans over the oil drains to one side,so on the sidestand it will have drained away from the window.Hence always check it upright on level ground.
Check it often.

Seems ok to me!

Remember to check it cold and then check again when warm obviously with the bike upright

Try the Book Depository http://www.bookdepository.co.uk for the manual. It's £14.45 delivered and you usually have it 48 hours after order.
