Default bit of a wobble.

Ok i seem to have bevelopmed a bit of a wobble after my little off. It happens about 50mph and upwards. I.ve checked front toback alignment as best i can and it appears to be 1mm out. So im guessing thats close enough. Goung to get the wheels balanced this week, any other things i can check? and how?

How did you check the front to back alignment? The 1mm you think you're out - is that including some margin for error within your workings? Surely the only way you can get this exact would be laser?

It's probably in your head. I had an off over a year ago and in some right hand bends I keep thinking my front tire is going to wash out. I remember after my off when I rebuilt the SV, when I first got back on I was 'noticing' things that were probably there from the day the bike was made.

Has anyone else ridden the bike and given there opinion on it?

aye to be fair i am looking out for things but something is definatly up imo. No error taken into account. Just finite values as i was pretty close. I would have thourght this would have been good enough. You can get more accurate than a "lazer" with a bit of cotton but it just takes a lot lot longer...

Some of it will be hypersensitivity following your off. The wobble may have been there before but you just weren't looking for anything.

Get the bike checked out professionally.

Either way don't worry, your confidence will return.

yea i must admit it probably was there before but as you say im worried about everything at the mo. Went out for a couple of miles yesterday with tony and figured out that im just a little tense (that pushing through treacle thing i talked about before) things are getting better.

Just wondered if there was another way of checking the forks or something before i take it in?

Take caps off and check they are sliding freely up and down, take forks off and get dial gauge on them, DTI the wheels

If it is at one speed then wheel bearings are likely

Well DTI is best way but if you just spin them and can't see a bend then probably fine

yea unfortunatly i only have the mag clamps at work so cant get them on the forks for the wheel you see... will have a look later on and see what it pans out at. I'm at pains to see what those crash bungs did as it appears i bent the rad as well

G clamp magnet to caliper mounting tab, works fine on SRAD forks.

But like I say if you spin wheel and cannot see it is bent then it is probably near enough true to be fine
