Anyone bought this or played the demo?
Having watched this for months (was very disappointed with MotoGP 09/10), now I've played the demo, i'm bitterly disappointed. It does feel anything like a simulation and the brakes feel non existent on sim mode. I've played online and while that is a little better, there's no disguising that they have failed to capture anything what TTsuperbikes was like. I just wish that Jester would produce it for a next gen console. |

Tried it on PS3 and 360 , to this day they have still not bettered MotoGP2 on the XBOX for handling and sheer competitveness . I thought SBK was a missed opportunity , the Capcom game is worse as well .

Got it yesterday, I think it's much better than 09. In 09 you just couldn't turn fast enough, no matter how much I tweaked the settings it was like trying to steer an oil tanker and so the AI would all stream around the bends twice as fast as I was waiting for my lard-ass rider to lean over already! And even at full lean I doubt he had his knee down.
The new one though is much better, you really can throw it into corners (and indeed, you have to) and the racing is a lot tighter with some real proper battles in the pack. The camera angles have actually gotten worse (all but the default view have your own head blocking your view forward) but the new career structure is good fun. Too early to tell if it'll stand up to extended play but thrashed 08 and 09 to death so I'm sure I'll do the same with this one. Now come on developers, make a new version of Tourist Trophy... and on 360. |

Some tweaking normally sorts my turning probs - if not its down to me being poo. And if you get the settings wrong its curtains. I forgot to change from my qualifying setup - 2/3 through the race I had about as much grip as a greased up pig on ice. Needless to say I ran wide and crashed - and finished last.
And I agree with tourist trophy remake - shame that they're still working on GT5 |

In 09 I found the Ducati especially hard to turn. I'd do the meeting with the engineer and he'd try to fix it when I complained it leaned too slowly, still not enough so I'd tweak further but STILL just could not get it to lean fast enough and as a result I'd be constantly understeering. Yamaha did this too, when I was going for the training mode trophy (beat the best time on all tracks) I ended up using the Gixxer as that at least could be made nimble enough. Hard to comprehend that in default settings it would be that poor, though.
So far loving the handling in X. Simulation Low suits me perfectly (will try the next whack up, won't bother with Full as you simply can't work all the controls on a joypad the same way you do on a real bike) and I find I can throw it into bends, I can brake going around bends and I can feel the bike starting to let go (and indeed, have managed to catch some instances where it as let go) and so keep it right on the edge. I'm not sure how your riding position (chosen when you create your character) affects this but I'm using Spies' Elbowz style. I do like how the AI is balanced... it's easy for anyone to ride a bike fast in a straight line so that's what the AI does, but you can see the differences between their skill levels in the corners both in how they take them and how soon they brake. Because I have balls of steel when riding in a game I tend to overtake half a dozen guys on some corners like the first chichane in Monza just because I brake a lot later. Oh, and do you hate Valencia? I really struggle with it, it's better now in X because the bike wants to go around bends at last but in 08 and 09 I'd have to chalk it up as a loss in championship mode as I could never qualify nor win reliably on it. |

I was a bit of a fiend for the Yamaha on 09, was rapid round Philip Island with that one - and I'm on a Yammy in my career at Superstock. I think its because the team/bike is below par because its not the best round corners. Tried the MV in a quick race my god that thing is good. I found that loosening the chain slightly does wonders for cornering, and softenting suspension ever so slighty.
What do you have the AI on? I use Medium Simulation and Amateur AI, thinking about either putting the AI on Pro, Simulation on Low or having AI on Rookie and Simualtion on Full. Medium sim is good for me but Amateur is a little to slow, particularly in the wet. Regularly qualify 2-3 secs faster than everyone else. Full sim isn't as bad as you'd think, you just have to work (a lot) on your braking and throttle control - I'm no where near yet! I'm a big fan of Valencia - I was rapid round it on 09, and did OK when I went on this years, was 5th/6th I think after starting 12th. Its probably because I did a lot of playing around with it on 09 so I know the track pretty well. I really struggle on the first section at Donnington, and Monza though |
