Got me an interview tomorrow morning in Portishead and having no other transport, I am going over on the bike, then once there I will get changed.
So today I decided to make sure that I have enough fuel in my tank so I don't have to worry tomorrow. Going out in the evening in Weston means the for the most part, the roads are pretty empty, which today was a good thing. ![]() I put five pounds of fuel in the tank at Sainsburies and decided to head out to the A370 and back in on a circular route. I pulled out onto the stretch of road where the speed limit goes up a bit and gave it a handful as I topped a very small and slight rise. However the council, it would seem, have recently dug a hole there, then filled it in again and there is now a four foot square bump with a fresh shiny dab of tarmac on it. ![]() From here I am not sure what happened, but it felt like the wheels hit the sudden bump and I took off by an inch or two and landed on the other side of the bump. The handle bars went light and wobbled from side to side and then the bike just straightened up again and carried on accelerating, before dropping into a lovely sweeping corner. ![]() At no point did I feel out of control, despite the wobble or leaving the surface of the earth! I was flying! ![]() The grin on my face was from ear to ear and I know that with all of my heart, I love my bike. The duel carriage way home was blissfully empty and I had the whole thing pretty much to myself for almost all of it. My bike is restricted to 33BHP, but it still feels beautifully powerful and exciting on all but the biggest dual carriage ways. ![]() To think though, that I had actually said earlier today that I could not be bothered to go to the garage, but went because I felt that I should be better prepared for tomorrow and stop being lazy. ![]() I love riding my bike me ![]() |

Well you did the right thing in the circumstance - which is nothing at all.
When you get a wobble or some other imbalance that might give you a scare, generally speaking the right thing to do is let it settle down, if you tense up, snap the throttle shut, or grab at the controls you'll almost certainly make it worse.
