Pete, if I remember correctly you have a G model ZX6R (98-99) in which case you take a 120/60 R17 front and a 170/60 R17 rear
If you have a J model (00-01) then you take a 120/65 R17 front and a 180/50 R17 rear. If in any doubt it's written on the side of the existing tyres ![]() And to think, I can't remember birthdays or names... Jambo

But it might have the wrong tyres on it already. So just as well you gave the right answer (for the G model anyway) Don't know about the J but I presume that was a typo 180/500 should be 180/50. What with a 65 front as well I don't fancy buying tyres for that! Not very std nowadays.

Given the milage I want from tyres I run touring rubber, none of which is available in a 120/65, so i tend to run a 120/70 front. But the VP2s will be available in the 120/65. Given the wheels are the same between G & J models I've also run G model sizes on my J, turned nicely... It's a J2 mate, but J1->J2 is only a paint change anyway ![]()

I assume you mean the 180/55 rear, a 180/70 would be unusually tall and I don't think I've ever seen one. Jambo

What are the actual rim sizes, can they not just take the normal 600SS tyre size (120/70&180/55)? and what the reason behind they random tyres size?
Surely it cant make any difference to the handling and only makes buying tyres more expensive and awkward as its unlikely to be an 'in stock' tyre.
