Default BT credit card Sharp Practice ***ards

If you ever get the chance to to take out a BT credit card RUN like hell in the other direction.

I have never encountered such a collection of sharp practice conmen!

Every month the direct debit fails.. despite there being money in the account., this results in a "fee" of £12 for non payment and another "fee" of £12 for the direct debit not working. They also cancel your special 0% rate.

This has happened 5 months running!! There's nothing wrong with the direct debit!

"Take it up with your bank" is their standard respose when you pointy out that 17 other Direct debits all worked fine and there was dosh in the bank.

You can only pay off the minimum amount by direct debit and the minimum amount you can pay off during the free period is reduced so you can't pay off the balance quickly meaning its still there whn the intro offer runs out.

Bloody scheisters!

Rant over.

I'm afraid is the same sad story with any credit card company. The worst is that they even add a note into your credit history which will affect you when you'll try to finance your new bike for ex.

Probably best to stay away form CC but if you have to, at least make sure a direct debit for minimum amount is in place and working.

I've taken the Direct Debit out of their control and I'll be setting up a Standing order insead. They can't screw it up then..

I never trust direct debits for anything as I like to know what I am paying for so even if it is a pain in the butt I pay in the bank by cheque. At least I have proof of payment directly to hand and any queries are dealt with before I part with my money.

Unfortunately for people like yourself, cheques are getting phased out. Peg loves bloody cheques....I've managed to get him out of the habit!

Tesco on thre other hand are epic, Ive had a fair share of 0% and most are very sharp and are just waiting for the mistake that will earn them the money.

After I got confurse with my online bill thinking I'd already paid for the month I got a late payment fee. So i rang them up, told them my prediciment, the refunded the late payment, and reintroduced the 0% intrest rate.

Virgin finance are 'orrid....
