I'm starting to think about taking my VFR up to AR10 with a tent and luggage.
That means I'll be too wide to filter effectively and have too much loose cr*p to try and wear down my chicken strips. So I'm thinking about a leisurely ride along the A-roads. Something like: Late breakfast at the Ace on Friday morning. Hit the A40 around 10.00 when all the cagers are at work Get off the motorway and head for the A-roads. Relaxed ride with a long lunch break in a country pub Arrive at the AR venue late afternoon, get the tents up and go booze shopping. Anyone else fancy it?? Keith. P.S. If it's raining I might consider hitting the motorways and going for minimum journey time. |

Two problems with that plan. Big breakfast. Leisurely lunch. If I partake of both of those I'll be too fat to wear my leathers and far too wide to filter, even without luggage.

I will probably head for The Ace to meet up with whoever is there. As for a route - well, I'll see what Uncle Garmin comes up with.
I guess it depends on whether we want to have an enjoyable ride there (I'll only have a rucksack so I'm ok) or whether those who are loaded up want to get there soonest & then relax. Me, I'm easy - but that's a whole different story isn't it ? !! ![]()

Keith, you could always drop off some of your stuff at ours and we can take it in the van for you.

I think Uncle Garmin will tell you to hit the M4 and get the hammer down. ![]() ![]() Maybe you could convince Uncle Garmin that you've got to visit relatives in Burford, and have a lunch appointment at GL4 8LA. Last edited by keith_d; 22-06-10 at 06:24 PM. Reason: Added post code for lunch stop |
