bike rentals in London area?

It's been a while, but back from Middle East and itching to get back on a bike.

Can anybody recommend a London based (pref west or south west london) bike hire place? Raceway Rentals seem to be OK price-wise, but no idea if they're any good, or more importantly, how well looked after the bikes are. I only need one for a few days to join some pals on an outing.

Daytona/HGB in Ruislip used to do rentals. Don't know if they still do and can't recomend them as I never rented off them but, at least you now have a starting point.

What a great experience with raceways. If you want to hire a new-ish bike (inc Sv650) these are the guys. I got a 06 VFR 800 and it was in top notch condition and has a great time on it. Great value. They've everything from bandits to sports bikes, real decent guys. Outstanding value, no big deposits, just great.

Sadly I witnessed a very nasty on sat pm involving an instant biker fatality which brings it all home. A429 near cirencester, car on wrong side of road over taking a horse + rider. Car was doing maybe 15 mph and bike was going v fast so that says something.

Apart from that (which still haunts me big time), a fabatastic 6 days in the saddle and now I'm itching to get a brand spanker on my drive.

I'm glad you enjoyed your experience with Raceways. I'll (hopefully) be renting a bike from them again next year. Maybe do the AR11 with you guys. Been meaning to do that for years!
