|
Number plate touching tyre.
OK this may be a really thick thing to ask!
Took the SV out for the first time yesterday (me pillion). Got up to Devils Bridge to see that the number plate had been touching the tyre the whole way there  New number plate needed now  Why would this be? Does the suspension need sorting out? Help!!! |

check what the preload is on it maybe on the lowest, but the shock may be finished

Preload, when carrying pillion it is advised to increase preload on compensate for the extra weight. If however you both weigh normal amounts chances are you are already to weighty for the original shock to handle anyway, in which case it's stop riding two up with that amount of weight or uprate the shock.

The suspension should move through its entire travel, knackered or not, without the numberplate hitting anything.
Work that out first, then think about whether the suspension is working properly.

nope unless stuck out well clear of the bike or hung from the swing arm

Some do adjust.
It sounds like its a shock issue when pillion weights are on the shock
