Default Power commander For a 1999 sv 650?

I am looking for a power commander for my 1999 sv or how to tune it so I can take it on track days

They don't do one as far as I am aware.
Rejetting is the answer. Although you can take it on trackdays without having it tuned.

Power commanders are for fuel injected bikes which your 1999 model SV is not. So that's not gonna work. Search for tuning info there's plenty of threads on the subject. Tbh if you are new to trackdays you should find the 70bhp of the sv is perfectly adequate.

As Mr Speirs says; there's no Power Commander for your bike.

That's because a '99 bike is a curvy, with carbs, so you haven't got a fuel injection system to connect a Power Commander to.

Is the bike standard? If it is and you have no running problems leave it alone and ride it - at best jetting and a pipe might, stress might, get a couple of BHP.
That's money better spent on petrol, tyres and, if you really must fiddle, improving the standard suspension.

Most misguided post of the year so far

What makes you think you can't take a stock bike on track?

Exactly - I remember my first track day on a standard naked curvy on Metzeler Z4 tyres (*shudder*) and I was still riding round the outside of sportsbikes on the few twisty bits at Snetterton - most rewarding

Remember its more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow

Where did you get those leathers Skip

+1 on those Z4's (big shudder)

Standard SV is plenty fast enough to have a blast round a track, without tuning. Spend any money on suspension & tyres

ignoring suspension, most minitwin race bikes are pretty close to stock engine setup. Plenty fast enough for the track.

Get out there and ride it as it is.
