Default resurfacing: Belmont to Abbey village and beyond

I went up to the bridge and Hartside today, on the way back they are resurfacing between Belmont and Abbey Village...well I say resurfacing, what I mean is a rolling roadworks where they spray tar then throw chippings on top.

It was Northbound from about Toccles turning until the beginning of the undulating straight with the cattery.

It may be further by now. The chippings are pretty big and the idiots with the stop/go signs ended up letting traffic from both directions go at the same time. They were covering grids as for down as Belmont reservoir.

Also , based on the signs, it looks like they may be doing Longworth road in the near future.

Keep an eye out for a couple of weeks

They'd gone a few miles out of Abbey village, the size and depth of the new chippings was unbelievable, a proper industrial job.

When I went over they were massive, kept sticking to my front tyre and catching the underside of the fender.

Oi, I hope you bow your head in reference should you ever pass Ewood.

Otherwise, probably right you don't want to be going too close to backburn itself. I once went there for a night out and ended up bathing in carbolic and scrubbing with a wire brush. Followed by 3 months of orange juice threatening to cut off my best friend for leading me astray.
