Default Anybody find a bike key at the AR?

I'm guessing not as it was on a red tag with the make/model and reg number of the bike, so it would have been obvious that it was mine, I was the only Yamaha XT600. Then again somebody might have found it after we left and "put it away safe" somewhere before forgetting they had it. Thanks.

Have you tried calling the hotel? If it wasn't picked up before bank holiday or on that weekend by someone, it's probably a few inches under mud and grass now due to the 300+ land rovers there that bank holiday weekend.

Hotel number is still on the AR10 details/proposal thread.

Thanks, I have emailed them, so I'll give them a chance to reply first. It's one of those things where I have lost the spare key and thinking back that was the last time I had it. I always put the spare key in my luggage when I go any distance from home.

Well, they are usually quite slow to respond to emails, so calling might be quicker...lol.

Also, don't just go out and get another spare cut by an auto locksmith. When I lost the babyblade keys, I was getting quotes of £100-300 from different companies to come and split the ignition set and cut a new key...I ended up finding a place in Bristol that, when I took them my ignition set, split it and cut me two new keys for £23.50. I coulnd't even tell they'd split the ignition set!

What what what's this about spitting the ignition? Can you not just get a copy of the key cut like with house keys? I only got one key from preston for my srad and have been meaning to stop at one of those key cutting vans to get a copy made..

If he's still got a spare key just cut one from that.

A mate of mine can split locks and make keys too, if you hear of anyone who needs that doing

Guys, I just said to not go out and just get another key cut by any auto locksmith. The talk of splitting the ignition set was me giving my experience as an example of how much I was going to be overcharged. Lots of normal locksmiths carry all car/bike keys and seem to be much cheaper than auto locksmiths.

YC, if you have a mate that can split ignitions, keep him as a friend, lol. I was most annoyed when I lost my babyblade keys (found them with a bowl in the garden the day after getting the new ones cut, so think was a little foul play involved)....but I'll always make sure I have spares from now on

Luggage yes, that's the first place I went when I was looking for it and TBH I fully expected to find there in one of those "I know where it is" moments. There is a deep zip pocket inside the lid of my tank bag that had the key and my documents/license it which I always forget to empty when I unpack. All my documents were still there, but the key wasn't.

Tent no, but I specifically remember running my hands though the pockets inside to check they were empty before collapsing the tent. I've learned that one the hard way before and had to unpack my entire tent, having just packed it away to get the car keys so I could drive away from the campsite!

I do need to unpack the tent and have another look.

The bottom of Euan's toybox is another quite likely place I haven't looked yet!!!

My dad locked the rental car keys in the boot of a chysler as we were packing to head off to the airport in Florida once year. Called out a locksmith and the guy started with a blank key, put it in the ignition, fiddled a bit then pulled it out and filed some off, then just repeated the process until he had reproduced a key just by feel. Was pretty impressive to watch plus we made it to the airport on time
