I was on Brighton Pier today after a good ride down on the bike, and I heard a song from my younger days that sparked some good memories.

Christopher Cross (I think the album was just his name) and Sailing, Ride like the wind, in fact the entire album.
And too much information, but making love with the woman I should have married while it played. At which point off to the iPod for a wallow in nostalgia |

A great album , at a great time in my life , they did awesome shows for hours . I practically learnt the whole album on guitar note for note and a great influence on my playing . I put this album on and the time machine kicks in and a lot of memories come flooding back which is quite good for me as I lost a chunk of my memory after the big accident . |

That is a fine album, which I actually only purchased about 2 months ago. Only 20 years after seeing them live at Donnington! Actually, until I heard "Enter Sandman" a few months back and thought 'Wow, I haven't heard that for years' I only associated annoyed memories with Metallica - I lent the girl I went to Monsters Of Rock with my jacket to keep warm and the silly moo wandered off, got squashed down at the front and got dragged out over the railings and left my jacket behind. My beloved, many patched and decorated denim jacket, complete with signatures of the whole of the band Slaughter. P1ssed off, moi?
On a lighter note, anything off Whitesnake's "1987" or "Slip Of The Tongue" albums, or Thunder's "Backstreet Symphony" bring back memories of drinking too much and clubbing too late. And Monster's Of Rock 1990 which was a triumph of hair guitar over musical content, but a great day nonetheless. |
