Default R 1150 r rockster 80yr.

Hi

Any one know anything about this bike , there's one local so going to take a butchers

From what I've found out its a part bin special it has the frame , engine and gearbox of the standard R1150R but with the wheels, forks, rear shock and dash from the 1100S & Boxer cup. Then finished off with the asymetric headlights from the R1150GS.

Cheers Steveg

My mate thought it was better than his 1150GS when he had one as a loaner. More go and better handling.

Only in production for a few years as obviously too radical for stuffy BM lumo-kit beardy-weirdies. Proper street bike. A bit before its time I would say.

I like them. All blacked out, but with some typical BM garish colour graphics.

I would be paying close attention to the shaft drive looking for any signs of leaks all along it. Check for too much play from the rear wheel when in gear. Make sure the clutch is in good nick (funny money to replace) and gearbox is snickity. My mates GS would occassionaly jump out of gear when 2 up and loaded.

Different, cool and all-round useful.

Didn't know it existed. Can't you post a pic of one? I've got a bit of a soft spot for BMW boxers.
