Street as a loaner

My bike's in for the 12K service (only 2K miles late ) and normally Wylies give me a POS T reg Dullsville as a loaner. I brought the 675 in last evening as I wouldn't have had the time this morning. But the bloke who had the Dullsville yesterday didn't come back before they closed at 6, so they were going to give me a CBR600RR, but the battery on that bike was flat, so I got their new Street demo. It has all of 32 miles on it, to include the 22 from the dealer back to my place

What a great bike this is The engine was really tight and the tyres are new (of course) so I couldn't do what I might have liked to have done, suffice to say I helped them run it in a bit Really flickable handling, and good suspendies. Even with a tight engine, it goes like stink. Having sat for years with my **** above my elbows, it took a bit of getting used to the riding position, but once I did this is one huge fun bike. Nice to be able to see something in the mirrors and to be able to do a meaningful shoulder check!!! Even wifey liked the bike, now that's saying something I have to take it back Wednesday morning, I'm looking forward to the ride

I must admit to being impressed with the Street R if a bit small compared to riding a fully faired. Still waiting for a go on the new Tiger which maybe the crossover between the Sprint and the Street.

Is yours the 'tona Ed?

There was a guy on I think www.street-triple.co.uk who got the bit's from ebay so he could swap from a 'tona to street in about half an hour.

Yes, it is. That Street Triple is a really fine bike, the windblast all adds to the experience. I've not ridden a naked bike since I sold my Hornet in 2006.

How do you find the size Ed? Was looking at them a couple of weeks ago with my SV parked beside one and the Street seemed a bit smaller in comparison.

He he. It's on hold at the moment but will start again soon. Only need to do a few more bits. In reality it'll take a good few hours to switch between but I can't see me wanting to do it.

Great bike eh Ed. Do you think you'd have gone for that if it'd been out when you bought your Daytona?

Nope - IIRC he got some cheapnnasty fairings and spare set of wheels for trackdays

Funnily enough it all goes quiet at about 125.
