Hi, this is my first thread. I already own a 2007 DL650 and am thinking of buying an SV650 also. I have never seen a " naked " SV 650 but understand that the bars and pegs are in different position....more natural vs sport position. My question is: Compared to my DL 650 how much difference is there? I feel comfortable on my V-Strom, will I feel comfortable on the SV650S or will the SV650N be what I want. I am not young. Thanks.

Probably be wanting a N then, pegs are lower and bars are wider.. wouldn't imagine it's as comfortable as the V-Strom, but yeah try one out down the local stealer.

Nakeds are a more comfortable position, but obviosuly have no fairing so are a bit more uncomfortable if you go touring. My naked is great for around town and tight twisties, but I'd rather have a fairing for the longer rides, I think I could cope with a sports touring riding position. The faired sv650 isn't like a full on sports position mind.

I've had both, naked was more comfortable over time, I do prefer the faired version for the higher speeds though.

Wind can be a pain in the **** at higher speeds on the naked, espically on motorways, or just open roads.

Aren't the pegs in the same place its just the bars/clip-ons that change position?

Theres so many variables the only real way you'll know is to sit on both bikes and make your own mind up.

Thanks to all for your replies. I went to the Suzuki dealer today but all I found were SV650S in the showroom, no " naked " models. It's true I have to find out for myself by sitting on one, I'll try more dealers. If anyone else has a comment it is welcome.

The naked model has been superseded by the gladius so you will only get one second hand.
