Hi,
I'm thinking of getting the ZX suspension professionally setup but want to know if anyone has used Dave Wood racing? |

Well, a good friend of mine Nick used to do the spanners there, I happened to mention that I'd had a few tank slappers to him, he spent about 1 minute with a spanner and said try that, bike was transformed. He now works at Ford and Ellis.
I've bought a few bikes from DWR now and have always found them very pleasant to deal with. My latest bike is a Ducati Monster that came from them and in Ducati circles they seem to have a realy good rep as well. Hope that sort of helps. I've heard good things about them - I did pop in for a chat a while back, but never got round to having the work done.

Use this guy at your peril. He's ****ed up more bikes than you want to worry about and left a trail of angry punters miles long.
Avoid like the plague. Gives the industry a bad name. If he's done a good job for you, you've simply been lucky, nothing more. Insider information has *lots* of scare stories. ![]() |

The big problem with suspension is most people don't have the first clue, so a "professional" can "completely transform" the bike by doing a simple adjustment that was very wrong in the first place, correcting for a setup that's miles from correct, or even make it worse and many people would equate that to "getting better".
So it is possible someone with a lot of positive reviews can not know what they are on about, or that some people have an axe to grind because they didn't like being told the truth. Honestly I have no idea either way. No substitute, IMO, for learning what the twiddly bits do and how to adjust them. And also learn as much as possible, everywhere, so you can know when someone is feeding you BS. You going to pay £40 for a "professional setup" every time you add a passenger add luggage change tyres change fork oil do more miles ambient temperature changes ? Not an exhaustive list BTW...

first port of call is.
why do you feel the need to have your suspension looked at by a 'professional'? |

Who says experts are right..the people on here know more? Really does anyone really know? Mmm seen as much poor advice on here as I've had from shops! Tbh Dave is ok and will give you a base to work from as will most pro suspension guys most I know are good and some excellent.
You pays yer money.... Etc bla bla |
