Default Christmas Spirit...lack of

Im sure im not the only one on here but this year my Christmas Spirit is even lower than it usually is. I turly just can into the whole spirit of it any more. Im sure that the fact i dont have kids contibutes to this, as probably seeing how excited they would be about it would help.

Am i the only one that suffers from this?

Bah bloody humbug

I hate it, always have for one reason and another that I won't go into on here.

I enjoy it slightly more each year, as my girlfriend loves it and trys to make it nice.

Right now I'm in a foreign country, with a flight to catch at 17:00 and it's snowing... Christmasy I am not lol

Yep. I'm not quite there yet.

I'm calling it 'pre-Christmas moodies' at the moment. Sometimes have a bit of a downer just before the event. I've also got reasons I won't bring to light right now.

Might perk up tomorrow night after a few drinkies... OHYES!

As ive got older and seen the change, i dislike it more and more.
I like the time off (even though no pay),
I like the fact that we spend time with others,
but the whole essence of it has gone imo.

Too commercial, its not about the good tidings anymore, its about retailers telling us we need to buy more crap we dont need.
It starts in september, for 1 day of the year
Everybody is stressed, people rush around spending money they aint got on people they dont like or hardly see.
Roads are stupidly busy with people who cant drive.

Quite happily do without it tbh, only thing that does drive me to keep going apart from the wife is the fact that this is a Christian country and if we dont keep our traditions, they will be lost forever along with our indentity and instead celebrate devalihi (sp)or something.

Merry Christmas

Ho ho ho - eh LOL.

I have 3 kids and they are really excited. That's enough for me. Personally if I didn't have kids I could take it or leave it. However when I see my 3 year olds face on Saturday morning as we have bought him lads. I know it is worth all the messing about then!

They even had 12ft L.E.D jesus's mounted to the wall in one place.

Way to commercial here, I bet if you asked all children 95% would not have a clue what it was about.

I have xmas dinner for seven to make on xmas day.
I have the flu and can't get out of bed. Really great as I have baby Oliver sat next to me needing attention.
The only xmas spirit I have right now is the one taken at night to put me to sleep

I love it!

Even though I'm battling the dreaded lurgy, and on a 3rd course of antibiotics, and feeling cr@p I'm still looking forward to it.

When I was a child Xmas at home was fantastic, and I've carried on from there. There are a number of family Xmas traditions I've kept going, like the Xmas picnic a midnight on Xmas Eve in front of a roaring fire. Loads of lovely grub, wine, sherry.

As to the commercial hype. I ignore it and get on doing what we've always done.
