How much do you use the rear brake?
When learning I obviously was taught to use as well as my front however as time went on after passing I found myself using it less and less until it's basically got to the point of only really using it when at a stop to make sure I'm not going to roll anywhere. Is this a bad thing? |

fronts more effective but not as smooth as rear i feal, im a big rear brake person using it mostly to keep the front down off the lights, use it more in winter and as and when road conditions require as a rear wheel loss of traction is far easier to handle than loss of front
as someone also said, front pads/disks are more expensive than rear too ;p

I use mine a fair bit, especially when coming to a quick stop from speed, sometimes I comfort brake when cornering, hardly touch it tbh, just seems to help.
Mainly use it for slow control in urban areas. |

I use the rear a lot. Really helps to balance the bike, especially when I'm heavily on the front brake. I use it for tight, low speed corners to help drop the bike in.

As TSM its a lot easier to control a rear end slide than a front end washout
I use it a lot in the city, for low speed stuff and the sh*** weather aswel.

I am quite fond of my rear brake, I use it as a controlling brake to scrub speed before a corner and for slow control moving. Mind you, I use this technique on the mountain bike and it seems to have transfered well to the big bike. At the moment I am cautious with the front brake since it locked the wheel braking for a junction that had a big metal manhole cover on it, scared me for a second that did! Slimy winter roads are not nice to powerful front brakes...

When sitting at the traffic lights, when I go skidding into the garage at the end of a ride out and the odd occasion in between, mostly slow speed stuff when filtering.
