Default Facts - men v women , cyclists v RoW

women are 9 times more likely to be struck by lightning than men ...cos they where bras with wire in them ...it makes sense

cyclists are more likely to be self righteous ****s than the Rest of the World because ...????????????????

....i just took the risky move of crossing the road near the Whitechapel Art Gallery - Traffic snarl up everywhere - i just avoid being smeared onto the tarmac by a silent assassin going 25 mph or so - and he gives me the " you helpeless waste of space " look and shake of the head ...despite the fact that the pedestrian crossing light was on green and he had crossed a red light ....

I am a cyclist and that annoys the hell out of me. It rarely happens to me due to living in the sticks, but I tend to get very angry with them and have to stop myself knocking the idiots off.

+1....happens on way into Brum all the time. I stop at the lights, waiting patiently even when no-one is crossing.

I then get idiots just tearing through. On a couple or occasions I have caught up and as I've gone tearing past shouted, "didn't fancy stopping for the light then"......most times they swear back. Lol. Bothered. There are many who unfortunately will always set a bad example for the few.....same with motorbikes!!!!

Not sure if it's so much a cyclist issue as it is a 'london fing'...

I knocked out 7 or 8 miles on the bike today, most of it was cycle routes and quite country roads, but I got back close to where I live - there's a cycle lane marked out on the pavement for about 3/4 of the way along beckfield lane (it's a mile long residential road). I got to a bit where the cycle lane ends and it's just regular footpath for the last 300-400 yards, but as I was knackered and didn't want to get in the way of motor vehicles, I just pootled along at walking pace on the footpath which is still wide enough for 3 people to walk side by side with extended-out-bits-where-the-bus-stop-is...

Cue old man with a stick stood at the bus stop shaking his head at me as though I'd just pished through his letter box. I took my earphone out to see what was up and he said "the cycle lane ends back up there you know, you should be on the road now" - me: "oh right sorry pal"..... couldn't be arsed arguing but I couldn't be arsed getting in the way on the road, so I just carried on at walking pace on the footpath..

It was the way he looked so disgusted that shocked me. If I'd been gunning it at 20-odd mph and the footpath was only wide enough for 1-2 people then fair play..

I coulda told him to 'come and get me' but that would have been rude .........(but still quite funny)

Sorry I agree with old bloke on this one.

Should have gotten off and pushed is you were not up to the road.

Ok so maybe its because my bike still bears the scars from a cyclist not following the rules, as well as my knee and Vixis's hip/thumb

I've got wicked saddle sore at the mo so I'll prolly just walk it next time tbh maybe if the old guy had waved his walking stick I might have taken it a bit more seriously, but it was just a filthy look

There was always a guy/cyclist on Nottingham ring road that I was sure had torrettes or something. He was nuts, swearing and shouting at anything that move.
