Talking Re: fishtank

Nice but I've just been gifted one.

Mate from work gave me a bio orb, one of the fish floats about the top of the tank.
Someone else form work said 'put some peas in the tank'.

Have your fish ever felt the need for peas?

Nice tank, I already have 1 too many tanks plus you're far too far away from me...I assume you've posted links in fish forums etc? I'll let people know

Peas are great for helping the fish digest...take a few frozen peas and leave for 5 minutes in a cup of boiling water then deshell, mush up and chuck them in...even better if you add a little garlic in the mix too, the fish like it and it helps their immune systems. Be careful not to over stock a bio orb, they really aren't big enough for most fish...and don't ever trust the local pet store's advice, read online instead where people aren't trying to make money out of you!

I keep cichlids too, SA ones myself (sevs, geos, acara etc). I found part boiled broccoli, potato, carrots etc are all good...as are some over ripe tropical fruits such as banana, papaya etc. The only trouble with the hobby is this urge to get bigger tanks all the time...I can't get bigger now, my floor wont like it...up to 5ft now for my Rotkeil Sevs and group of Geos.

Anyway, back to reading posts on bikes

My fish love broccoli, I put it in boiling water for a few mins then press it down in the sand, they eat the whole thing!
