$50 free poker money :)

So i've been playing a while now and came across pokerstrategy.com.
Saw a free $50 offer and had a look, it's genuine and I have $50 totally free (no deposit etc) on FullTilt poker

You get a choice or poker rooms to put the money in (if you pass the quiz etc) with diffent rules on withdrawing the cash.

Fulltilt is the "pro" choice apparently but I'm having fun on PKR as it's more social and has more freerolls.

also 888.com are giving free $8 bankrolls just for signing up but you have to play I think $50 worth of rake before you can draw it out so if you aren't good you'll likely loose the money before you make the rake but that's what pokerstrategy.com is for

Read the articles etc and started playing, made $10 then lost $20 as I started being stupid.
Re-read the articles and videos and now i'm slowing clawing back up and regularly finishing 18th to 8th in 2500 person tournaments

sounds good that does. What's the stipulation with the $50 though. I presume you have to play with it first, but can you ever withdraw that $50, or you only allowed to claim what you win on top of that $50, ie like they're giving us poker vouchers?

The $50 is yours but yes you need to play to be able to withdraw, the specifics depend on the poker room you deposit with. For Full tilt you need to have 100 Full tilt points to withdraw (not just with the free money but in general, this is to stop money laundering apparently). You get 1 point per $1 rake you are involved in and double during happy hour. I have 40 points currently and still have $43 of the starting $50 (after ignoring the lessons on the site and playing randomly and suffering for it!) Other site have different rules. So i'm afraid yes you can't get the $50 and draw it straight out and go down the pub lol, but hey you get to play with someone elses money and if you play well you get to take out the $50 and whatever you win assuming you don't keep playing. The goal of the website is to get you seed you for 25 big blinds at minimum limit for you to start with and get from $50 to $200 so you can move up and so on and so forth =p

Been to vegas a cuppla times, always come back with a profit. Don't touch blackjack/roulette,none of that...just poker tournies. Though online poker really is a whole different ball game.

Was playing facebook poker for a while and skill counts for a lot less when you have 6 people going on all on any old crap as at least 1 will tend to luck out
On micro limits it's not much better sometimes but not AS bad so I'm making steady money, I'm starting to learn properly and identify the fish and lock them down, still a bit fishy myself but getting better ^_^

flamin heck that's big money. If I got into that though it would become a full time job and take over.

Yeeh the online 'all inners' are really annoying. You'll get one chump doing it to steal pathetic blind amounts and then some other goon will call him followed by another. You end up with an amateur high stacked having stole a loada chips off the other amateurs.

What's more is they'll call a big raise pre-flop with a naff hand,get lucky and throw you off course. noobs.
