I used to use Parky for mine but he buggered of to the South of France for his retirement. If its done by a specialist there is no issues.

Last one Parky did for me was £40 a set but that was 11 years ago and at mates rates I would imagine over a ton now.

Ive had a set straghtened for an sv before. Was 40 quid for the set for right way up ones. (about 2 years ago). As said if done by a specialist then no worries, also had a wheel straightened there...did an awsome job. I think forks are only good to be straightened once, as they become significantly weaker the second time.

i took forks to be straightened before but the guy told me they had a slight crease so was not possible it theirs not a crease then they can be done safely, i was surprised how much a wheel could be straightened!

It's fine as long as it's done by someone who knows what they're doing. As suggested above if there's any creasing of the material, or if the bend is severe then no, but if it's a little tweak that's needed and it's done by someone competent, then there should be no problem.

People to trust: Maidstone Motoliner, Hagon. Obviously they are both down this way, but both will post and are completely reliable.

Good morning all.

Back in the day when fork tubes were made out of pretty thick walled tubing, even reasonably severe bends could be removed safely.
However, modern fork tubes are very thin walled, & all but barely perceptible bends will result in a crease if an attempt is made to straighten them.

If available, I supply stanchions from All Bike Engineering in Greenwich. Their replacement tubes are made from a higher grade tubing than standard, & are hard chromed, which is an extra bonus.
I think that they're around £95 each for SV's

Cheers.
