Default Tech Help with Battery Question Please

Hope this qualifies on the SV forum as I've got an SV and the DL1000 shares heritage with the SV!! and ..... you're a nice bunch of helpful people who take pity on the mechanically inept!!
I've just taken a YTX12BS battery from one of my bikes and put it on my DL1000 Strom (standard battery for this is YTX14BS), to see if it would start, having not run it for some time and its battery was dead. It started first turn, instantly.
My question is ..... can I run the Strom on this smaller (?) battery, until I get a replacement YTX14BS? or will it damage something? No extras running from it by the way.

Default Re: Tech Help with Battery Question Please

Should be absolutely fine.

The Yuasa site says the YTX12 is a 10Ah 180CCA (cold cranking amps) item, the YTX14 is 12Ah and 200CCA, not much difference in real life.

Providing the bike starts OK then go for it.
