![]() ![]() and BAM my SV turned into this beast ![]() It's a 2001 model RSV Mille R, the full spec jobby, ohlins all round, OZ racing wheels and carbon goodies. I loved my SV but this really is something else! I'll get some proper pictures taken soon after a good polish, this is off of my phone. Cheers Very happy Mike ![]() |

I'm actually very surprised how cheap the insurance is. It's costing me £370 for a year's TPFT through Bikesure; I'm 21 (in a few weeks) with 5 yrs NCB and the bike is garaged and has a decent alarm and Datatag.

Nice, my brother had one of those same year as yours, OZ wheels are a work of art arent they.
Some things to keep in mind. 1. Make sure the battery is in tip top shape. The batteries cack and any sign of damp cold mornings, you might find it struggles to start. I think my brother replaced the battery on his with one with a higher cold crank value. Which helped. 2. Watch for warped front disk brakes, beware if buying replacements on ebay described as "straight" seemed to have a bit of a rep for warping the front disks.

Yeah the wheels are absolutely gorgeous
![]() Cheers for the advice Fizz, the bike's kept on an optimate every night. It's a sealed Yuasa anyway so it should be fine for a fair while; the 'vbatt' display tells me 13v even when the engine's not running! |

1) Get a V meter on the battery (the built in one can read slightly incorrectly), and check the charging voltage.
2) Do a wire mod if V's are too low 3) A 150amp starter relay is a good mod 4) If the clutch is a bit too heavy for you think about a new slave cylinder (Evo, MPL, Obreon). And most importantly, guard em wheels, if I meet you on a rideout you may find your bike standing on bricks! ![]() ![]() Oh yeah, and as Fizz says, brake discs can warp but sometimes it helps to clean the rotor buttons (helped on mine but they eventually needed replacing). The clutch master cyl is a Brembo, I assume the standard one is too. Is it the same on the standard Mille models? It's not too heavy but the span is quite far out and is already set to '3' of 4 on the adjuster.

THe RSVR is very nice.
Things to get used to: Flat Batteries No back Brake Warped Discs Mega knackered left hand from the concrete clutch Frequent petrol stops. Rec frying itself However it is all worth because they are serious fun! |
