Default Proper Petrolheads...

...have to have owned an Alfa at least once in their life according to Clarkson, so I took this for a testdrive today:-

Alfa Giulietta - 170bhp diesel, 350Nm torques, 60mpg combined.

Very quiet and refined, even from start up, however flick the 'DNA' switch to Dynamic and it goes like a rocket.

Order will be placed tomorrow, however I will go for the new 140bhp diesel that has just come out (none available to test drive today though). 0-60 is 1 second slower (9 secs), mpg is a bit better (up to 72.4 on a run!) and it works out about £20 per month less on finance.

To think - I nearly went for a Nissan Qashqai instead

I think that is the new definition of insanity, buying something else when you could have one of those.
Stunning car!

Price of the QQ kept creeping up (ordered it 7 weeks ago via Lombard Leasing and just been told it has gone up again) so I thought - sod it, if I am going to be paying that much I just as well get something I actually like

Had a look at a one series beemer, (didn't like it) and was going to testdrive an A3 Black Edition today but there is a 6 month delivery timescale (minimum) on the Audi!

I was tempted by these and the 159... Went for the 1 series in the end due to delivery times as the guiletta thing had only just come out.

Trying to convice my Kerry to think about getting one but she doesn't like the Punto aspect of it. You be lucky to get the mpg too lol

Profondo blue - a metallic dark blue with a hint of purple/black.

Wanted a dark colour to offset the wheels/mirrors/chrome trim, don't want black as already got two black cars which are a right PITA to keep clean.

Just found a pic of one:-
