Can't offer any advice on that particular helmet, but if I were you, I'd go to your local shop (Hein Gericke seems to have a large selection up here), try as many helmets on as you can, and buy the one that fits you best.

I have never seen one of these in the UK. However, they must exist as there have been a number of reviews.
The consensus appears to be that they are somewhat lacking in quality, that the inner tinted visor is not dark enough and that they suffer from fogging. The pump to fit feature appears to work well, although there is some concern that should a paramedic need to remove the helmet, they would not know they need to deflate it first. My concern after the normal how good/safe about a no name helmet, is getting a decent well fitting visor. Nothing worse than the rain running inside

I have had one of these for a year and can confirm pretty much what is said above, except they are lacking in quality, they feel well built, the visor mechanism for one is easy to use, and the mechanism for cracking open the visor a couple of mm is brilliant, much better than my shoei's, i have since gone back to them simply for the pinclip.
As is said above they do mist a little bit, but it is generally very patchy, but i only ever rode with the visor completely closed when it was pi**ing it down with rain, and even then it could be minimised by opening the chin vent (which surprisingly didnt let in any water) and removing the chin curtain, and the helmet is water tight, the visor doesnt let in water, but i tended to find myself opening it at junctions, traffic lights etc to wipe off the misting. Then water will get in, which is annoying The chin curtain does however have a massive warning for paramedics telling them how to deflate the cheek pads, so remove it at your peril. The inflatible cheek pads are brilliantly comfy, but i often find i am inflating them on the go, after having ridden off and forgetting to inflate them. The inner drop down isnt dark enough, but scorpion will sell you several darker options, which are. It is annoying having to straight away get new ones, but then it is wicked. The standard one is just about useable on a sunny day, but if you find urself caught out without sunnies and riding into the sun on a summer evening it is definately NOT dark enough. However I have a friend who did some work for the UK importer- thunderchild distribution, and i am told scorpion have taken most of this info, and as such on the next range of EXO1000 they are adding the option of a pinlock insert, which will sort the fogging which is the only major issue, but then you could just add your own if you like the helmet. I also believe that the newer visors are going to be interchangeable, so you may be able to pick up a pinlock visor in a few months time anyway. Either way, go and try one on, as not everyone suits the scorpion, and dw about the cheek fit, because of the pump up cheek pads, but do pay attention to the fit round the top of the head. Hope tht helps...need to ask any q's PM me |
